I resurrected this Intercontinental Stage Combo Organ, model OP6. Very good sound-modelling; exactly like the Hammond B3…it would sound great through a Leslie rotary-speaker.

I guess this music technology, using microchips to generate all the notes, to mimic revered, older instruments, dates from the 70’s and 80’s. Incidentally, all the little op-amps had a lot of crusty white noise. To hear this keyboard sound good, it had to be turned up to “11”

That big IC at top of picture has a dedicated synthesizer capable of generating all pitches. And there you see three others, doing the same tasks, to ma,e a virtual Hammond Organ. The chips were made in Japan by Roland. Organ was assembled in Italy.

This piano has a hitch-pin for every strand of wire. This piano takes a very long time to get out of tune, because the strings (wires) do not interfere with each other’s proper tension.

Acrosonic by Baldwin. A tiny spinet designed to optimise ‘bigness’ of sound. Acro (the heights, the summit, the, um, Acme, also the name of the best mail-order supply chain , according to Wiley Coyote. ‘sonic’ isn’t JUST a hedgehog. Sonic is anything to do with sound. After removing the keys, I found mouse condominiums at both ends. The little white disks are at the fulcrum of each key, setting key height and eliminating clattering noises.
